How were the West African empires similar?

How were the West African empires similar? They were all wealthy because of trade. Which society was able to prevent an attempted conquest? Which society did not base its economy on trade?

Hoped that help:P

The official name of Ghana was the Gold Coast. The Gold Coasters made the decision just before independence to call the new nation after the ancient Ghanaian empire, under the leadership of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. One of the three prehistoric empires in West Africa was the ancient Ghana empire. The other two are Songhai and Mali. The historic region of the Ghana empire included what is now Southern Mauritania and Mali. Many miles to the north-west of the current location of Ghana. It is believed that some ethnic groups moved south after the fall of the three ancient empires, and some of them did make it as far south as present-day Ghana.

How Ghana empire evolved?

From roughly 300 to 1100, the Ghana Empire, a West African dynasty had its center in what is now the southeast of Mauritania and western Mali. The Soninke people established the Empire, which had its capital in Koumbi Saleh.

At the time the empire was founded, the area had long-standing complex communities, some of which were based on trans-Saharan trade in salt and gold. The western Sahara's camel introduction in the third century AD was a significant driver for the revolutionary societal changes that led to the establishment of the empire. The camel transformed the earlier, more erratic trading routes into a trade by the time the Muslims conquered North Africa in the seventh century.

3. How did the printing press help Luther?
Reaction to Luther’s Ideas
4. Describe the Church’s reaction to Luther’s 95 Theses using three different adjectives.
5. How did the Church decide to punish Luther? What are three ways that this affected him?
6. Why did some people decide to support Luther’s ideas even though he was an outlaw?
7. Imagine that you are Martin Luther. Do you think you would have been brave enough to tell the Church your radical ideas, knowing that there might be consequences?
A New Church
8. How did the Protestant Reformation effect the common people?
9. Explain why some kings and nobles were willing to support the Protestant Reformation.
10. Do you think Martin Luther should be considered a hero? Why or why not? What lessons can you learn from his actions?

Answers

Answers:

1. Luther believes that salvation comes through faith alone. The Catholic church believed that a mix of faith and good works leads to salvation.

2. The 95 theses were written by Martin Luther describing everything that was wrong with the catholic church. Luther nailed the 95 theses to the Wittenburg Church.

3. The printing press allowed for a rapid spread of ideas to a whole new group of people. This caused Luther's ideas to be widely accepted, eventually leading to the Protestant Revolution.

4. Panicked, quick, and shifting. The Catholic church panicked because these ideas spread by Luther had the potential for people to view Catholicism differently. They moved very quickly and attacked with a reformation of their own, which shifted their current practices to others. For example, the Catholic reformation lead to the end of the sale of indulgences, worship services being in vernacular instead of Latin, and improved training and education for priests.

5. The Catholic Church punished Luther by excommunicating him. He was declared a heretic and an outlaw by the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V. Being excommunicated means that he was cut off from family, friends, and work.

6. People decided to support Luther because they were tired of the Catholic Church's abuses but were scared to bring it to light. When Luther posted the 95 theses, people followed in hopes of creating a religion that included everyone, not just the rich who could afford to pay for indulgences and make it to heaven.

7. I would not, the Catholic Church in this era was incredibly powerful and I wouldn't be to leave my family and friends behind to prove a point.

8. The protestant reformation allowed for church services to be in vernacular language instead of Latin, which most common people wouldn't be able to understand. The end of the sale of indulgences allowed the common people to have faith that they would be able to be saved.

9. People of high ranks such as princes, kings, and nobles, supported Luther despite him being an outlaw because they thought they could take advantage of his ideas by, not having to pay extra money to the Church.

10. Martin Luther should be considered a hero because he was able to stand up to an incredibly powerful institution because he saw that there were multiple flaws in the system. A lesson I can learn is to stand up to injustice when we see it.

Write two paragraphs stating the causes and effects of Napoleon’s rise to power.

Answers

Answer:

Napoleon's rise to power was greatly due to the progressive events of the French Revolution. He exploited the opportunities provided by the revolution to become Emperor of France, yet he was from a poor family, it brought the principle of career opened to talents where Napoleon was promoted. Napoleon rose to power due to his victories in the military. He was an established officer and received national praise in France. The commoners supported Napoleon because he offered to bring domestic peace. Politics were useless as Napoleon had an imperial title; most political opponents were sent into exile.

Napoleon's biggest effect was the spread of nationalism, which later cause great World Wars. As Napoleon expanded the French Empire, he took over many countries and led them to find an overpowering sense of nationalism. Napoleon Bonaparte was a Fench Military who invaded much of the Europe in 19th century. He rose due to the political instability between the nations. France became a democratic republic, following the French Revolution. The Jacobin government's collapse had allowed the wealthier middle class to seize power.

Some robots drive around like cars, some are just large arms, and some look like humans. All of these robots can accomplish tasks in space that are too difficult or dangerous for astronauts to do alone.2The most famous NASA robots are called the Mars rovers. According to NASA, the wheeled rovers are part of the Mars Exploration Program, a long-term effort of robotic exploration of the red planet. The newest rover, Curiosity, landed on Mars in August 2012. The size of a small car, Curiosity carries advanced equipment to analyze the soil and air on Mars. Curiosity has made many exciting discoveries about the planet's environment. Most importantly, it discovered that Mars contains the right ingredients to support life, including carbon, oxygen, and water. Curiosity has also found that astronauts on Mars would be exposed to dangerous levels of radiation. This discovery will help NASA protect its astronauts when they one day travel to Mars.3 NASA is also building other robots. For example, the Robonaut2 looks like the upper half of a human. The human hand is a very complex and useful tool. It might seem easy for a person to press a button, grasp and lift an object, or turn a knob, but these tasks are very hard for a robot. However, a robot that could perform these tasks would be very useful to astronauts. The Robonaut2 is now being tested at the International Space Station (ISS). Eventually, NASA wants to add legs or wheels to the Robonaut2, which would allow it to move around outside the ISS.4Another robot on the ISS is a massive arm called Canadarm2. It can do repair work and transport objects too big for humans to move. Canadarm2 has even caught the Hubble telescope to allow astronauts to repair it. As technology develops, NASA will increasingly rely on robots. They will guide astronauts in new places, give them medical care, and do dangerous work for them. With their special equipment and considerable strength, robots can help humans explore new worlds.Which sentence BEST explains how the author develops the central idea? A.
